Alex has been considered the fleets prettiest DUCK. She has large blue morning glories spanning the length if her white body. Her top half is painted green. She was named after the Arborway section of Boston located in Jamaica Plain. The Arborway was a piece of the famous “Emerald Necklace” a 40-mile ring of parks that encircles the city of Boston. This park system was created by the famous landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmstead, who also created Central Park in New York City. Arborway Alex was Boston Duck Tours first bio-diesel DUCK. We thought it would be fitting to give this vehicle a “green” theme given the momentous step the company had taken towards going green. Alex was christened in conjunction with the Emerald Necklace Conservancy in 2008 at the Arnold Arboretum.
